The Vineyard House 1886, Omodos





On the narrow streets of Omodos, you can stumble upon an interesting museum. It is located in an old cellar. The exhibition is called "Vineyard House 1886" and is dedicated to preserving local traditions and history. The museum was founded by the chairman of the Cultural Heritage Association, Konteas Haralambos Pericleous. The exhibition includes antique items, utensils, and tools that belonged to the families of Yannis Agatocleous, Christakis, and Spirula Antoniou from Omodos. The museum is divided into halls. The themes include plowing, harvesting and threshing, bread baking, the layout of a traditional Cypriot house, the tools of vine growers and winemakers, washing facilities, traditional ovens, and distilleries. The purpose of the space is to preserve these artifacts and popularize rural life. The museum is open to all visitors, admission is free. Opening hours are from 12:00 to 16:00.
